Sir Francis Bacon – ”I have taken all knowledge to be my province.”

I feel very much the same. I find myself fascinated by almost any topic, and love to learn new things. On twitter (@jmfinn) you will find me posting, commenting, and following all sorts of topics: healthcare (I am a cancer survivor, and loathe our current insurance system which rewards quantity of care over quality), games/gamification (life should be fun, play!), marketing, start-ups, entrepreneurism books, language, film, economics, politics, food and the food system, cities and regional planning, and many, many, more. (Subjects I have omitted, please don’t feel slighted, there are just too many of you to name.)

I find and take inspiration from all areas, and try to apply to these ideas to my current projects as well as future projects.

I’m setting a personal goal to undertake twelve collaborative projects in the next twelve months. What form these might take; personal, professional or civic/community oriented, and with whom have yet to be determined. The timeline, other than the twelve months, is also open. One a month? Or perhaps several at a time? The only stipulation is that I want them to positively impact both me, and those around me. I want them to have a happiness multiplier effect, make the world a little better, and make a few more people smile a bit more often.

I am already involved in one, and have three others in the works, so that leaves 8 to go. I am actively, and passively, seeking partners for these, so if you’re interested in doing something together, please reach out to me here. Updates as I plan, start, and finish these collaborations to follow.
